IAC Solihull strikes off after Unite secures 13.5% pay victory
- Friday 13 October 2023
Strikes by nearly 250 workers at International Automotive Components (IAC) in Solihull due to begin yesterday (Thursday) have been cancelled after an improved pay offer was secured.
The deal, negotiated by Unite, the UK’s leading union, means the workers will receive a 13.5 per cent uplift in their pay.
The dispute has now ended after the workers voted in favour of accepting the offer.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “By standing firm in their union, IAC’s Solihull workers secured a substantial increase in their pay. Once again, Unite’s total focus on defending jobs, pay and conditions is paying dividends for our members.”
IAC Solihull produces dashboards and door, roof and boot interiors for automotive manufacturers.
Unite regional officer Jason Richards said: “This excellent deal could not have been secured without the hard work and determination of our reps and members. It is another reminder that those wishing to improve their wages and working lives should join Unite and get their colleagues to do the same.”
