Unite lands a 20% pay increase for easyJet cabin crew
- Wednesday 10 April 2024
easyJet cabin crew will receive a 20 per cent basic pay increase by1 May 2025, following successful negotiations between the airline and Unite, the UK’s leading union.
Unite secured the 18-month deal after extensive talks, which will also see easyJet crew take home an extra three per cent on variable pay.
Unite general secretary, Sharon Graham, said: “When we work together, we win.
“Unite is steadfast in its mission to secure better pay, jobs and conditions and It it is excellent that our hard working members at easyJet receive a historic pay increase due to Unite."
The complex payment structure of cabin crew means salaries change depending on routes and base location. Variable pay refers to a flight payment – that individuals receive per journey. The further the flight, the more money cabin crew receive.

Unite also achieved policy changes at easyJet. The company airline will now pay £15 to all cabin crew on board when a service is disrupted by over an hour. If a delay exceeds 120 minutes, that payment will double.
Lindsey Olliver, regional officer at Unite said: “Through the union’s collective strength and solid negotiations, we have achieved a significant pay increase for our members.
