Arriva Leicestershire strikes off after Unite wins improved pay offer
- Monday 15 December 2025
Strikes by around 300 Leicester, Hinckley and Coalville Arriva bus workers are off, after Unite, the UK’s leading union, secured an improved pay offer.
The drivers, depot and office staff voted in favour of the improved offer, which will see their pay increase by 6.5 per cent from 1 December.
Drivers will also receive a one off non-consolidated payment of £1,000 and an improvement to their bank holiday working rate.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “A huge well done to Arriva Leicestershire workforce who have shown that workers who stand together win together. Once again, Unite’s laser focus on improving jobs, pay and conditions is putting money into our members’ pockets.”
The dispute was settled without the need for industrial action and all scheduled strike dates have now been called off.
Unite regional officer Harj Mahi said: “This win shows why those who want better wages and working lives should join Unite and organise their colleagues to join to. There is power in a union.”
