Pay uplifts rising up to 5.1 per cent
Around 100 Amcor Flexible Packaging workers in Ayrshire are set to benefit from a new pay deal Unite can confirm today (27 June).
The pay agreement successfully negotiated by Unite will see pay uplifts rising up to 5.1 per cent following a review of skills and pay grades. The process is designed to help with the retention of skilled labour and rewards long service.
Amcor, one of the largest employers in Ardeer, specialises in flexible packaging production, particularly for the food and agriculture industry.
The workers perform a number of roles at the factory, including printing, extrusion and lamination. Amcor was formerly known as APM and is now a part of Berry Global.
Sharon Graham, Unite general secretary said: “This is an important pay deal for Amcor workers and shows the value of having Unite in your corner. This is yet another demonstration of Unite delivering improvements to jobs, pay and conditions for our members.”
Siobhan McCready, Unite industrial officer, said: “The deal was overwhelmingly backed by our Amcor members. It’s a good deal which also delivers a new grading structure which will put our members in a better position to negotiate increases in pay in the years to come.”
