Lincoln Siemens Energy workers celebrate Unite pay win after strike vote
- Tuesday 2 September 2025
Nearly 1,000 Lincoln Siemens Energy workers will receive substantial pay rises after voting for strike action.
The Unite members voted to accept an improved deal offered by the company after strike dates were scheduled.
The deal will see workers’ wages increase either by 3.5 per cent backdated to January 2025 or a £1,900 pay rise depending on which is greater, plus a £400 one off payment.
For the first time, the workers will also be included in the Siemens Energy global bonus scheme in the next financial year. This will see them receive an additional two per cent, one off payment if targets are met, increasing to four per cent if targets are exceeded.
The company’s original offer was a flat 3.5 per cent increase.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “This excellent result was secured because the workers at Siemens Energy stood strong in their union – well done to them. Unite’s overriding priority is delivering better jobs, pay and conditions for our members.”
Workers at Siemens Energy voted for strike action in a ballot that closed on 11 August, with strike action scheduled soon after.
Following successful negotiations with the company, the improved offer was secured with the dispute ending without the need for industrial action.
Unite regional secretary Paresh Patel said: “This pay victory is a prime example of why those wanting better wages and working lives should join Unite and get their colleagues to do the same.”
Unite regional coordinating officer Shaun Lee said: “I want to thank all the Unite members at Siemens Energy for standing together throughout these difficult negotiations which have ended with a positive result for the workers ”
