Doncaster bus strike this Friday suspended
- Tuesday 28 April 2026
A planned strike this Friday (1 May) by around 230 bus drivers in Doncaster has been stopped to allow for talks between Unite, the employer First South Yorkshire and conciliatory service Acas.
The Unite members have been taking industrial action, as they have asked for pay parity with drivers at the same company who drive routes in Sheffield.
Drivers are still walking out tomorrow (29 April) and may also strike on 6 May depending on the outcome of the talks.
Unite regional officer Christian Ratcliffe said: “The employer has agreed to a meeting with Unite and Acas. Therefore, we have suspended strike action this Friday for negotiations.”
