- Tuesday 21 April 2026
Union rally at Westminster calling for the NHS to be fully and properly funded across the UK
The NHS is "running on empty" and in danger of a complete breakdown according to Unite, one of the UK’s leading health sector unions. The cuts are so serious that patient safety is being risked.
Hundreds of Unite members and activists are rallying in Westminster on Wednesday (22 April) in protest at planned cuts to NHS budgets and headcounts.
When: Wednesday 22 April at 11:00
Where: King George V statue opposite Houses of Parliament, Abingdon St, London SW1P 3JY
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “Putting the NHS on the road to austerity mark two won’t get the NHS off its knees. Who pays the price? Everyday people and their families. This is not acceptable under any government, let alone a Labour government.”
Media are invited to attend the rally for video, photo and interview opportunities (Photos and video footage can be supplied on request).
