Pilgrim’s Food: Enniskillen workers to strike in pursuit of pay justice and paid breaks
- Tuesday 28 July 2026
Unite members working at the Pilgrim’s Foods site at Carran Business Park in Enniskillen are set to take strike action in pursuit of pay justice. The strike will commence at 06.30 on Tuesday 4 August and end at 06.30 on Saturday 8 August.
Workers are seeking a reasonable pay increase that is applied consistently to all employees within the bargaining unit and reflects the increased cost of living. They are also demanding parity in working conditions, as day shift workers currently do not receive paid breaks in line with their colleagues in other grades and shifts.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “Workers at the Pilgrim’s site in Enniskillen have Unite’s full support as they strike for pay justice. The company can well afford to pay our members a decent wage – never mind paying them for work breaks. Our members are simply seeking fairness, consistency and a pay award that reflects the cost-of-living pressures facing working families across Northern Ireland."
Unite regional officer Greg O’Kane said: “Resolution of this dispute is in the employer’s hands. They need to return to the table with an acceptable pay offer and end the long-standing unequal practice whereby day shift workers – unlike other grades - are not fully paid for breaks.”
