Strike action called off with 13 per cent uplift over two years
Unite, Scotland’s leading union, confirmed today (1 May) strike action has been called off at Motherwell based Resideo, after workers secured a significant wage increase over two years.
Unite secured an increase of eight per cent this year with a further increase of a minimum of five per cent in 2027. Around 70 operators had unanimously backed strike action with action set for next week, until Resideo made an improved pay offer.
Resideo has further agreed to match any inflation increase if the cost of living surpasses five per cent. The wage increase is equivalent to over £3,500 for some operators.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “This pay increase was only achieved through the determination and readiness of our members being prepared to take strike action. It’s a good win for Unite in delivering better jobs, pay and conditions for our members.”
The company specialises in the production of smart thermostats, heating controls, security systems, water control products, air con systems and heating systems.
Unite industrial officer Sam Ritchie said: “The pay offer was overwhelmingly backed by our members at Resideo. We are pleased to get this deal over the line providing a timely boost to the pay packets of our members.”
