Heathrow Wilson James workers secure inflation busting pay rise after unionising
- Wednesday 7 October 2026
Around 80 Heathrow Wilson James workers have secured an inflation busting pay rise during their first set of pay negotiations after gaining union recognition.
The workers, who are employed on the Wilson James VIP passenger services contract at Heathrow, gained a 4.2 per cent pay rise and improvements to bonuses, annual leave, sick pay and overtime rates.
The deal came after the workers won recognition last year from Wilson James to be formally represented by Unite, allowing for collective bargaining on pay and conditions.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “This deal will be the first of many negotiated by Unite on behalf of Wilson James’ Heathrow VIP passenger services workers.
“It only came about because of the sterling efforts of Unite’s reps and members at Wilson James in organising for recognition. Their hard work will continue to bring benefits to the workforce long into the future.”
Following pay negotiations with Wilson James, the workers voted by 97 per cent to accept the deal.
Unite regional officer Stuart Baxter said: “As this deal shows, joining and organising through Unite is the best way for workers to protect and advance their jobs, pay and conditions. There is power in a union.”
