Planned strikes by drivers at the Ministry of Defence have been suspended following last minute concessions by the employer.

Drivers has been due to strike over a complete breakdown in workplace relations but, having announced strike action, the MoD came back to the negotiating table with a new commitment to resolve long-standing issues.

Unite regional officer Keith Henderson said:

"This is the last chance saloon for the MoD - we've been here once before and our members will not tolerate anything less than complete commitment to resolving these issues.

"As an act of goodwill, while talks are ongoing, Unite has agreed to suspend strike action. But it remains on the table if the MoD fail to uphold their end of the bargain."
