Unite wins recognition deal for warehouse workers at Culina Logistics in Tilbury Port
- Wednesday 16 July 2025
Unite, the UK's leading union, has won recognition for over 300 workers at Culina Logistics in Tilbury Port, Essex.
The recognition agreement was voted through by 100 per cent of workers, who mostly work in the firm's chilled warehouse working 12 hours a day on a four on, four off pattern including nightshifts. There are also a small number of hygiene workers who will be covered by the new agreement.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: "This hard won recognition agreement for our members at Culina Logistics is an important step forward, which will help improve jobs, pay and conditions for hardworking staff."
Culina Logistics provides integrated supply chain services and expertise for food and drink products that require strict refrigerated temperatures. It is an ambient and chilled food and drink third-party logistics specialist, providing warehousing and distribution to firms across the country.
The recognition agreement means Unite now has a strong platform to undertake collective bargaining on behalf of workers at Culina Logistics in Tilbury Port in order to improve jobs, pay and conditions, including improving shift patterns and holiday pay.
Unite regional officer Perry Wright said: "We are extremely pleased with this result, which came about through the hard work of Unite reps getting the message out about why it is so important to have a recognised union in the workplace.
"This is a significant result and Unite looks forward to securing the best deals for our members at Culina Logistics."
