Workers at Scandinavian airline receive pay increase and improved terms and conditions
Following strike action that saw multiple flight cancellations, cabin crew based at Heathrow working for Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) have won a significant pay victory.
Cabin crew have agreed to accept an eight per cent pay increase across all grades for the next 14 months. Crew will also see their overtime pay go from £79 up to a maximum of £240 as well as two additional days of annual leave. An additional pay grade is also being introduced to ensure staff are progressing appropriately along pay scales and management at SAS have agreed to attend a two-day workshop with staff to address issues with rostering and scheduling.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: "This is a well-earned victory for hard working cabin crew who just want to be able to put food on the table and pay their bills. Unite time and again wins improved pay for our members in the civil air transport sector and this victory at SAS shows the power in a union."

Over 100 cabin crew took strike action across the Christmas and New Year periods causing significant disruption to the airlines’ operations.
Unite regional officer Callum Rochford said: "I'm delighted for our members at SAS who stood firm against a giant airline and took strike action to make their voices heard. They should be congratulated on their well-deserved pay rise and improved terms."
