Agreement covers TAC Healthcare offshore medics on Repsol platforms
Unite, the UK’s largest offshore trade union, has hailed the latest recognition agreement in the offshore sector covering medics on Repsol platforms.
The recognition agreement covers around 20 offshore medics employed by TAC Healthcare Group Limited working on Repsol’s Arbroath, AUK, Bleoholm, Claymore, Clyde, Fulmar, Montrose, and Piper Bravo platforms.
The agreement means that Unite will now have a platform to undertake collective bargaining on behalf of the workers to improve jobs, pay and conditions on the Repsol contract.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “The union recognition agreement for medics on Repsol platforms is the latest example of Unite delivering for our members. There is no doubt the hard work which Unite is putting in to represent workers in the oil and gas sector is paying off and helping us to deliver better jobs, pay and conditions for offshore medics.”
The recognition agreement adds to a string of wins for Unite in the oil and gas sector covering hundreds of workers. This includes Sodexo and Wilson James Security workers at the Sullom Voe terminal in the Shetland Islands, Repsol Resources workers at the Flotta oil terminal in the Orkney Islands, and a recognition deal for MCL Medics on Harbour Energy offshore installations.
John Boland, Unite industrial officer, said: “The recognition agreement covering TAC Healthcare workers on Repsol’s platforms is another step forward for medics in the offshore sector. These workers provide a vital and lifeline service for the offshore sector. The agreement provides a strong platform for Unite to secure even better working conditions for our medics going forward.”
