Industrial action at airport catering firm Do & Co has been avoided after over 270 workers won a significantly improved pay deal.

The Unite members, based at London Heathrow Airport, had voted to strike after initially being offered a below-inflation pay rise of three per cent.

However, following negotiations they overwhelmingly accepted a new offer which will see loaders receive a 6.25 per cent rise and all other members get five per cent. Unite members will also benefit from increases to overtime rates and an additional day of company sick pay for each year of service, up to a maximum of 26 days. This is all backdated to 1 April 2026.

Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: "This shows the power of a union. It is an excellent result for our members at Do & Co, who were able to secure this by standing together and voting to take strike action."

Job roles covered under the new pay agreement include flight coordinators and supervisors, drivers and airside supervisors.

Unite regional officer Martin West said: "This win demonstrates the strength of collective organisation and the importance of workers standing together to defend and improve their pay and conditions. We are delighted to have won this deal for our members.”
