Prostate Cancer awareness in the workplace

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer affecting men in the UK and will touch the lives of many Unite members. Unite North East Yorkshire and Humber (NEYH) has partnered with Prostate Cancer UK to ask employers to run a prostate cancer risk awareness raising campaign in the workplace.

Early diagnosis saves lives

We believe that through signing up to a risk awareness raising campaign, together we can promote improved health outcomes and ultimately save lives.

The campaign also aims to support those living with prostate cancer post treatment by campaigning for:

  • Sanitary bins for men living with incontinence
  • Ongoing commitment from employers on prostate cancer awareness
  • Adequate access to toilet facilities for all staff throughout work shifts
  • Paid time off for all relevant medical appointments and tests
